  • Mother-Infant Stimulation Program for parents of Hearing Impaired (Deaf) children : This is a parent centred approach which seeks to develop spoken language through a structured programme based on highly enhanced auditory and language input. Listening skills organized on a hierarchy of auditory difficulty from detection to comprehension. The parent stimulator helps parents to carry out programmes/speech language stimulation with their children. Training is in Kannada, English, Hindi and Telugu. Residential facility is available for parents. Minimum stay three months.
  • Referrals to appropriate agencies
  • Speech-therapy centre Infants, children, adults and senior citizens receive speech-language therapy, therapies for other communication impairment and counselling services.
  • Auditory Verbal Therapy – (AVT)
    This is a special hearing based therapy for children who have undergone cochlear implant. The experience of hearing gross sounds after implantation is extended to understand the speech sounds, words and sentences found in the surroundings leading to the use of the hearing capabilities constantly , usefully and voluntarily.
  • Orientation to Regular school teachers :
    Centre conducts orientation programs to regular school teachers to enable them to accommodate hearing and other communication impaired in their school set up.
